Bradley Sargeant from Broadstairs took another win in the third round of the Formula 6 championship at Whilton Mill Kart Circuit in Daventry on Saturday to extend his championship lead.
It was the first race for a brand new kart, the TBKart Piranha prokart, which Bradley’s team BAS Motorsport are the sole UK agents for.
“We took delivery of the new kart earlier in the week and had no time to test the kart before the race, so we were going into it a bit blind, without any real set-up” explained Sargeant.
“It was tough, but quite exciting at the same time!”
“The track was wet all morning and I found a reasonable wet set-up in practice and was fairly confident going into the first heat, however the kart didn’t quite feel as good as it had, I managed to hang on to second place but when we got back to the pits we found that a faulty wheel nut had led to a loose rear wheel!”.
The track dried out for the second and third heats and Bradley won both comfortably.
“The third heat was the first time I had driven the kart in full dry conditions so it was completely unknown, fortunately we guessed about right with the set-up and the kart was fantastic, I was very impressed with the kart’s pace straight away considering we had no testing time, it seems to be a really great kart.”
Bradley went on to take victory in the ten lap final by a massive margin of ten seconds.
“It was great to win first time out in the new kart and it looks promising as the kart will surely get quicker with some testing.”
“I would like to thank all of our sponsors, Paintballing at Quex Park, SunDays Tanning and Beauty, Lanes Printers of Broadstairs, BSB Paint Factors, Smallbone Interiors and All Sign Solutions, without them these results would not be possible and I really cannot thank them all enough!”
